Category Rules

In 2017, SIFF launched the inaugural New Works-In-Progress Forum to bring emerging narrative and documentary filmmakers together with industry and audience at a critical junction in the creative process.

The 2018 SIFF New Works-In-Progress will be held June 6, 7 and 8, 2018. The Seattle International Film Festival is May 17-June 10, 2018.

Two Narrative and two Documentary Feature Films will be chosen to participate in the Forum, and be a part of SIFF’s Industry Week events.

Chosen films are offered domestic airfare and 3-nights festival hotel accommodations, as well as Industry Pass accreditation for 2, and invitations to Industry Week events.

Applications must include a link to the film in its current state (an assembly cut, rough cut, or fine cut are acceptable, but films cannot be at locked (final) stage). Films must still be a work-in-progress in June 2018.

Application requirements:
Directors Statement (750 words max, including both artistic statement as well as goals/expectations for the film)
Film Synopses: short logline (50 words max), and long (250 words max)
3 Film Stills
1 Directors headshot
Director and Producer Bios

Incomplete applications will not be considered.
