Category Rules


- Submissions are made through WithoutABox (WAB), using the WAB online entry forms.


Screenplays should be typed and formatted according to current industry standards.

Font size must be 12 point and in Courier type.

Screenplays must be narrative in the length of (ten) 10 pages or LESS. Scripts will be disqualified that do not adhere to the page count restriction.

Pages must be numbered in the top right hand corner.

Title page with Writers and contact info may be provided and will not be included in the above page count.

- By submitting a film to the Hill Country Film Festival (HCFF), you agree to allow highlights or excerpts of your script to be placed on the HCFF website and used for other marketing and promotional purposes. You also agree to allow HCFF to continue to promote future festival using excerpts of your script. HCFF will never solicit your script outside the promotion of the HCFF.

- You may submit as many entries as you like. Each entry requires its own entry fee.

- Submission must be made electronically via Withoutabox. We do not accept hard copy submissions.


Hill Country Film Festival is hereby granted the right to utilize an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes.

The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations.

The undersigned shall indemnify and hold harmless Hill Country Film Festival from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.
