Category Rules

Applicant must be one of the credited writers, directors or producers.

Shorts (11-29 minutes)

All monies must be in U.S. Dollars either by U.S. bank check or universal or post office money order or credit card payment online.

Applicant must have legal ownership right to enter contest, and must meet Bare Bones Budget criteria I (produced for less than $1,000,000).

All necessary rights, permissions and clearances including but not limited to all music used in the motion picture have been obtained for public promotion, exhibition, and/or sale of the submitted picture.

Applicants accepted for screening will be asked to provide press materials, including one-sheets, posters, complete credits and synopsis.

ENTRY SCREENING & EXHIBITION DVDS or BLU-RAYS ARE NOT RETURNED.

DVD/BLU-RAY copies are kept for the Bare Bones Alumni Film Library and for additional Bare Bones Showcase opportunities.

Films produced or initiated by a major movie studio are ineligible for competition but may be considered for a Showcase venue.

We do not accept pornography or excessive vulgarity.

Winners and awards will be announced and presented, during the Festival Awards Show. Awards are based on on merit. Judges reserve the right not to grant an award.

The Bare Bones International Film & Music Festival reserves the right to use press materials, DVD OR BLU-RAY of each selected work for publicity and promotional purposes.

PLEASE do not send submissions in fiber-filled envelopes, use bubble-packed envelopes.

The screening dates, times and number of screenings is at the sole discretion of the festival programmer.

The BBIFF (Bare Bones International Film and Music Festival) is a project of Bare Bones Film Arts Society, a non-profit corporation formed under the Oklahoma Secretary of State.
