Indie Auteur Bonehead Award
Custom Bonehead. Nominees who participate in the Indie Auteur Panels receive a Gold Bonehead Medallion. The Indie Auteur of the Year is credited with a minimum of 5 crucial positions (Writer, Producer, Director, Cinematographer, Editor, Lead Actor, Production Designer and Marketing duties.)

OK Soil Award
Bonehead Medallion for project shot primarily on location in the state of Oklahoma and/or with OK cast and crew. Writer, Director or Producer must be a resident of OK.

Oscar Ray's Shameless D.I.Y. Marketing Award
This Award is presented to the Filmmaker, Screenwriter or Actor who goes beyond the norm in PRomoting themselves and their project Before and During the festival.

Category Rules

Applicant must be one of the credited writers, directors or producers. Be sure to include your City, State, Country. Logline and synopsis is needed for promotional purposes.

Features (70-120 minutes)

All monies must be in U.S. Dollars either by U.S. bank check or universal or post office money order or credit card payment online.

Applicant must have legal ownership right to enter contest, and must meet Bare Bones Budget criteria I (produced for less than $1,000,000) or Bare Bones Budget criteria 2 (produced for less than $5,000,000).

Applicants accepted for screening will be asked to provide press materials, including one-sheets, posters, complete credits and a bio/photo for Director or Producer.

A Bare Bones Budget summary should accompany each feature film submission to verify Bare Bones qualification and for consideration for Indie Auteur of the Year Award, with a minimum of five (5) credited titles and/or credits. (Writer, Producer, Director, Cinematographer, Editor, Lead Actor, Production Designer, Marketer, Music Composer.

ENTRY SCREENING and EXHIBITION TAPES ARE NOT RETURNED.
Screening DVD's may have additional showcase opportunities and become part of the Bare Bones Alumni Film Library.

Films produced or initiated by a major movie studio are ineligible for competition in category I but may be considered for a category 2 submission or a showcase out of competition.

All necessary rights, permissions and clearances including but not limited to, rights to all music used in the motion picture have been obtained for public promotion, exhibition, and/or sale of the submitted picture.

We do not accept pornography or excessive vulgarity.

World and U.S. Premieres selected for screening will receive additional publicity.

Eligibility for the Bare Bones Indie Auteur Award is based on production credits, budget and overall project independence and is selected by the Judging Committee. Up to 12 Nominees will be invited at the festival's discretion, will be featured on a special webpage with web-links. A 3-5 minute video covering the answers to specific questions will also be required in order to participate.

Winners and awards will be announced and presented,during the Festival's Bonehead Awards Show. Awards are based on on merit. Judges reserve the right not to grant an award.

The Bare Bones International Film and Music Festival reserves the right to use press materials and cassette tapes of each selected work for publicity and promotional purposes.

PLEASE do not send submissions in fiber-filled envelopes, use bubble-packed envelopes.

The screening date, time and venue for a public screening is at the sole discretion of the festival programmer.
