This category is a competition.

Script to Reel Award
The winning script will be shot by 6-8 teams of filmmakers during the Festival, with a 7th team shooting a documentary of the competition. The winning scriptwriter may be available to assist in the competition. The script needs to be under 10 pages and it must be suitable to be shot in Downtown Boca. The film may screen at the closing night ceremonies in a state of the art over 300-seat house. The film may also air on a syndicated WHDT cable show featuring short films. Category Rules

- The Script can be no longer than 10 pages.
- The Script must have the ability to be cast, shot and fully edited during the run of the festival (5 days)
- The Script must take place in a sunny destination, i.e a beach town.
-The Script must contain at least 2 references to Downtown Boca.
-The Script this year must be a comedy.
-The Script must have no less than 4 Actors/Actresses.
-The Script must be an original work that has never been produced, NO Adaptations. (Adapted original stage plays okay.)
There must be Product placement
-The Writer must be able to attend the DBFF during lensing and be willing to participate in the documentary and subsequent interviews with the head of programming.
