CATEGORY RULES
To be eligible to screen at the Creative Arts Film Festival (CAFF), your film does not have to be a World Premiere or a USA Premiere. Also, there are no restrictions on what year your film was completed or if it has screened at any other film festivals. Also, ALL non-original portions of your film MUST be cleared through licensing. You must have permission to use someone else’s work. If you submit a film with copyrighted or trademarked materials included and you do not have written permission to use them, you will not be eligible to screen at CAFF. You must be legally authorized to represent the entire work, in writing.

All films must be a MAXIMUM of 60 minutes (including credits). Films can be original or adapted works, and all production formats are eligible. Your film must be in English, or subtitled or dubbed in English. CAFF does accept films that are Works-In-Progress.

* * * FOR PREVIEW, WE ACCEPT:

1. A link to an online version of your film. Passwords are okay for the PREVIEW stage.

OR

2. A DVD of your film (NTSC, Region 0 or 1).

* * * FOR EXHIBITION, WE ACCEPT:
If your film is selected, you will need to provide us with the following:

1. A link to an online webpage that has your film on it with no passwords or restrictions. The link must be emailed to CAFF at matterstone@aol.com by November 07. We will incorporate the link into our Screening Room to provide additional promotion for your website or production company. Please make sure your film plays easily with no glitches.

OR

2. A digital file (MOV, WMV, AVI, MPEG, or FLV) of your film, received by mail (address below) at CAFF by November 07. We will upload your film for the run of the festival, and then delete it after the festival run. CAFF does not download any digital files from the internet. The digital files must be mailed-in.

Rest assured that CAFF will not change your film submission category. CAFF leaves your film submission in the category you’ve chosen (example: if you submit your film as a drama film, rest assured that it will be considered as a drama film).

If you submit online, please print out your submission confirmation page and include it in your submission mailing. Please clearly label ALL materials submitted with at least the film title. CAFF does not return submitted materials, so please do not send us your master copies. All CAFF decisions are final.

Thank You and Good Luck from the Creative Arts Film Festival.
