Prizes & Awards
This category is a competition.

Grand Jury Prize
Selected by a Jury of Industry Professionals, the winner will receive a $1,000 cash prize.
Cash Award Value: 1,000 U.S. Dollar

Category Rules
-- Feature Films are 40 minutes or more in length.

-- Films in this category may be fiction or non-fiction. Accepted films are eligible in other, broader categories. For instance, if your film is a documentary, it would be eligible for the Tennessee First Grand Jury Prize AND would be up for the Documentary Competition prize.

-- READ CAREFULLY: This is for Tennessee Filmmakers and films shot in Tennessee.

-- Competition is open to fiction, non-fiction, and animated films that meet at least two of the three following critera:
1 - Director is a current Tennessee Resident or Tennessee Native.
2 - Writer and or Producer is a current Tennessee Resident
3 - At least 65% of the film was shot in Tennessee

-- Films that have shown theatrically with purchasable tickets or been broadcast on television in Tennessee prior to the Festival or are available for sale on DVD or VOD in any capacity are NOT eligible for competition. Cast/Crew or Family/Friend screenings do not disqualify film from entry.

-- There is a strong preference for World or North American premieres in this category. Next preference is given to films whose premieres occurred after May 1, 2015.

-- We prefer to screen films via Vimeo links or other online screening format. We will accept DVD or BluRay. Multiple availability is best.

-- If you are burning a consumer disc, write your Project Title, Film ID# and Contact #, and runtime on the disc with a Sharpie pen. PLEASE test your consumer-burned DVD on several makes and models of players BEFORE sending it to our offices. We try to contact those with disc errors, but some may simply be disqualified if time becomes tight.

-- Works in progress are accepted but are not encouraged. Please only submit works in progress if close to the final deadline as we may not have time to view re-edited submissions.

-- You may submit multiple entries but you must complete an entry form and pay an entry fee for each film.

-- Entries from previous years are accepted IF significant changes have been made since the previous submission.

The individual or corporation submitting the film warrants that it is authorized to and, upon acceptance, can commit the film to three screenings at any time during the 2016 Nashville Film Festival, April 14-23, 2016 (NaFF). Selected entries must send festival exhibition copies on approved formats by March 30, 2016 - unless otherwise explicitly arranged. Accepted films that need to pull due to completion or scheduling issues MUST pull by March 15, 2015 or they WILL be screened as submitted.

Every possible care will be taken with entries while in our possession, however, we cannot accept responsibility for loss, damage or additional charges incurred en route, or due to normal wear and tear during play on the festival circuit, or due to equipment error. Do not send original prints or master copies. Additionally, NaFF is held harmless from any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity or screening of any film.

The cost of shipping an entry to the Festival must be paid by the entrant. All international entries must be sent with all transportation charges, duties, and taxes prepaid by the shipper. For films accepted into the Festival, the entrant is responsible for inbound shipping. The Festival will pay the cost of shipping the print to the next destination. However, the Festival will not be responsible for unnecessary expedited or overnight shipping charges to other destinations.

Submission of an entry grants NaFF permission to have clips, stills and images from accepted works (including marketing material) locally telecast in part, and shown, either in part or whole, for educational or promotional purposes ONLY to NaFF stakeholders (sponsors, cultural partners, etc.).

-- Entry fee (Paid via Withoutabox. Films without entry fees may be deleted any time after 30 days of receipt of entry with no warning to the filmmaker.

--3-Line Synopsis (may be used for Festival Program and website)

--250 Word Synopsis (may be used for Festival Program and website)

--Selected entries must submit at least one digital hi-res still photo from the film and one digital hi-res headshot of the director(s) as well as a director biography / filmography. And at least one 72dpi still that is 560 pixels by 315 pixels.

-- No entry fees will be refunded if the disc or screener has been received in NaFF offices and has been through the pre-screening process.

Notification of Festival acceptance status will be given to all feature entrants on or around February 26, 2016.
