Category Rules

ELIGIBILITY
Films must have been completed no earlier than January 1, 2014 (exceptions will be made).
Foreign Language film soundtracks must be in the original language with English subtitles.

SUBMISSION REGULATIONS
ANY FILM CONSIDERED FOR ENTRY MUST BE:
Submitted on DVD (NTSC format only). Check DVD on several models of DVD player before submitting
Each entry must be submitted on a separate DVD.
All entries and accompanying materials will become the property of SFBFF and its video library. Moving images, and stills reproduced from them, will be used to promote SFBFF.

DEADLINE
All entries must be received by May 1, 2015
SHIPPING INSTRUCTIONS
All submissions must be shipped prepaid in proper containers.
All submissions must be accompanied by:
- A completed entry form
- Payment (see fees)
- Photo still from film. (Include press kit if available)

LABELING
Please label all material
FILM TITLE, RUNNING TIME
NAME, ADDRESS, PHONE, E-MAIL

FEES
A non-refundable entry fee must accompany each entry.
Fee structure:
-$40/$45 for each film
Payment must be in US Funds, by check or money order.
Please make checks payable to SFBFF.
The festival reserves the right to impose a $50 surcharge for returned checks.

JUDGING
Each entry will be viewed by the Festival committee and rated on a 5 (five) point scale. The committee will also rate for general interest, creativity and production values.

ACCEPTANCE NOTIFICATION
All filmmakers will be notified by May 15, 2015 (approximately).

FILMS SELECTED FOR FESTIVAL
Festival Copies must be received by June 1, 2015

Press kits and photo materials must be received as soon as possible after notification of acceptance for promotional and press purposes.

Shipping
-The filmmaker is solely responsible for shipping the festival print prepaid, insured and packed in proper containers.
-SFBFF will be responsible for return shipping.
-SFBFF will not pay for international shipping of US films.

Awards
-Any film considered for a festival award cannot have had commercial theatrical play domestically.

-All precaution will be taken to ensure proper handling of materials submitted
-The festival, its judges or its agents cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to any film or video entered or any materials submitted in the connection therewith. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the festival, its judges and agents shall be held harmless from damages resulting from, or the loss of, film due to shipment of the film to the festival.
