This category is a competition.


Mumbai Young Critics Award
A jury of media students from various Mumbai colleges will be selected to watch the films in the Festival. Their critiques will be published in the daily bulletin. These young critics will vote the film of their choice from among the films selected in the International Competition section and Above The Cut section, which would be awarded Mumbai Young Critics’ Award (Silver Gateway trophy) for the film (director).
This prize is shared with other categories.


Audience Choice Award
Silver Gateway trophy for the film (director) plus cash prize of Rs. 10,00,000 (approximately US$ 20,000) for the film. (The cash prize is shared : 45% to the director, 45% to producer & 10% to the Sales Agent / Indian distributor of the film who makes the entry and makes available the print for screening in the festival). All the cash prizes are subject to Indian Tax laws.

CATEGORY RULES
Feature Films in 35mm or CDP or HDCAM PAL or Digibeta PAL projection format may participate.

Only feature length fiction films are considered for this section. The minimum length of the film should be 70 minutes.

Highly acclaimed feature length fiction films in digital format may also participate. Only HDCAM or digibeta PAL tapes are accepted as digital format for festival screening.

The films must have been produced after November 01, 2012.

Participation at another international film festival does not preclude entry into the World Cinema section.

The films should not have been presented in India either theatrically (commercially or in Festivals) or in video / telecast / internet.

The festival director reserves the right to settle all cases not covered by the guidelines and to grant exceptions in special cases.
