Category Rules

Films submitted to the U.S. Documentary category must be non-fiction with a total run time of 45 minutes or longer. U.S. Documentary feature films must have been primarily financed and produced in the U.S.A. Documentaries primarily financed and produced outside of the U.S.A. should be submitted to the International Documentary category. U.S. Mini-Documentaries under 45 minutes should be submitted to the U.S. Short Film Category. U.S. Documentary Feature films with distribution can still be submitted and will be considered for the non-competitive "LIFF Picks Showcase" category.
