Bermuda Shorts Award
The Bermuda International Film Festival is accredited by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences (AMPAS). The Bermuda Shorts Award for Best Narrative Short automatically qualifies the winner for the next year's Academy Awards in the categories of Best Live Action Short.


Audience Choice Award
All short films are eligible for the Short Film Audience Choice Award.


CATEGORY RULES
-The film lender declares that he/she is empowered to lend the print of the film now entered and commits to refrain from withdrawing the film from the Festival.
-Films must have been completed after January 1, 2013
-Running Time for all Shorts Films must be 40 minutes or less
-BIFF will not consider previously submitted films
-Short Films may not have been released theatrically or shown online or television prior to the festival.
-BIFF presents all films in their original language. Non-English language films must have English subtitles
-If you are submitting a work- in- progress, the submission must be marked as a work- in- progress or rough cut. Only one version of the film may be considered, and replacement cuts are not accepted, so please keep this in mind when deciding when to submit.
-Please be sure you can provide your finished film in the exhibition format you are claiming it will be available in on your entry form.
-BIFF preferred screening format is HD-Cam but we can exhibit 35mm.
-If film is invited to screen entrants must cover the expenses related to transportation of the film print plus 2 DVD preview screeners to the Festival. BIFF will cover the outbound shipping costs, and entrants must cover the inbound shipping costs.
