Grand Jury Prize
Winner will qualify for consideration in the Short Film category of the annual Academy Awards®. Winner selected by jury.
Cash Award Value: 1,000 U.S. Dollar

Audience Choice Award
All short films are eligible for the Short Film Audience Choice Award.
Cash Award Value: 500 U.S. Dollar

Category Rules

-Films must have been completed after January 1, 2015

-BIFF will not consider previously submitted films

-Fims may not have been released theatrically or shown on television prior to the festival.

-Film may not have been available online (i.e. Youtube, Vimeo) prior to the festival

-BIFF presents all films in their original language. Non-English language films must have English subtitles

-BIFF does not accept works in progress

-All films under 41 minutes are considered short subject films

-DCP is the preferred exhibition format for the festival

-For programming consideration the festival only accepts online screeners. Vimeo links for the complete film are acceptable. Please email your Vimeo link to info@biff.bm once your submission is complete. WE DO NOT ACCEPT DVD SUBMISSIONS!

-After submitting, please check your Withoutabox account to make sure that your submission meets our requirements and has been accepted for consideration. It is your responsibility to make sure all requirements are met and necessary information is given.

-Filmmakers are responsible for the shipment of the exhibition copy to the BIFF. BIFF will cover outbound shipping only.

-The BIFF reserves the right to use images from films selected in Festival marketing purposes (web, print media, and television).
