Prizes & Awards

This category is a competition.

1st Place
Best Amateur Film
This prize is shared with other categories.

Category Rules

All projects in this category also compete in their Form category (Feature, Featurette, Short, Documentary, and Documentary Short).

To qualify for the Amateur category, the project must be submitted by the filmmaker to this category AND be accepted as appropriate to the category by the festival. This is to prevent "professionally produced" projects from stacking the deck!

Occasionally, a project submitted in another category may be requested by the festival to be additionally submitted as an Amateur project. The filmmaker may accept or decline this request.
