Category Rules

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR INDEPENDENT FEATURE COMPETITION:
• Entries must be Narrative Films only. Documentary films will not be accepted.
• Entries must have at least 51% U.S. funding to be considered a U.S. Domestic submission.
• Entries must have at least 51% funding from outside the U.S. to be considered an International submission.
• Film submissions must be produced for $200,000 or less (pre-distribution budget).
• Running time for all Feature Films must be between 70 and 110 minutes
• Selected films must be made available in DVD or BluRay format.
• Films produced, financed or initiated by major motion picture studios are not eligible
for the competition. However, any film conforming to the above guidelines and purchased
by a studio after completion and submission to the StarLite Film Festival is eligible.
• Film submissions in a foreign language must be subtitled in English
• There will be a Best Domestic, Best International, Best of Fest, Grand Jury Award, an Audience Award, and other special awards at the Jury's and Presidents' discretion.

SUBMISSIONS:

• Entries MUST include a film synopsis and a complete cast/credits list. The synopsis should be a well-written, concise description of the basic plot and premise of your film. Maximum synopsis length is 150 words for features.
• You are not required to submit promotional photographs of the film with this submission (this is only necessary after a film has been accepted). But if you’d like to, please follow these specs and guidelines.
•HI-RES STILLS (300 DPI, AT LEAST 3” X 5”) ARE REQUIRED UPON SUBMISSION AND CAN BE SENT ON DISCS OR EMAILED TO STARLITE.FILMFEST@GARDENTHEATRE.ORG, OR YOU CAN
PROVIDE A LINK FOR ONLINE ACCESS TO IMAGES.
• The synopsis and stills may be used in the program guide and website, and will be available to distributors, members of the press, and filmmakers.
• If submitting more than one film, a separate completed entry form is required for each title.

PRINT SHIPPING INFORMATION:

• If your film is accepted, the StarLite Film Festival will pay for one-way, regular shipping within the U.S. for the exhibition copy of accepted films. The StarLite Film Festival will not accept C.O.D. shipments. If selected, all video masters must be received no later than December 31st 2012. Films that arrive early stand a stronger chance of receiving a press screening. Final selected films should be shipped to:
