CATEGORY RULES
Works in any language other than English must have English subtitles at the time of submission. Dialogue lists will NOT be accepted.

We strongly prefer that works be available for exhibition in DVD format for all Architectural Projection location assignments; DVD format is strongly preferred for all Cinema Screening submissions as well (other options may be discussed on a case by case basis). Please email us at info@light-assembly.com for more information.

If your film is selected for the festival we will contact you about images and press materials. You may place these materials online and type the URL for them into the 'resume' section of this entry form.

All artists and filmmakers must have obtained any necessary clearances to exhibit the film at the time of submission. Upon acceptance filmmakers must execute a release agreement wherein they (i) accept responsibility for obtaining any and all clearances necessary to exhibit their work at Light Assembly (LA); (ii) warrant that they have the rights necessary to exhibit their film at LA; and (iii) indemnify and hold harmless LA its parent company, its affiliates, and subsidiaries and any of their respective directors, officers, employees, and representatives against any claim arising out of exhibition of their film at LA.

Cost of shipping exhibition prints and final screener versions to and from the festival is the responsibility of the entrant. Exhibition copies must be sent to the festival prepaid along with an SASE for return. All film reels, cans, videotapes and cases must be labeled with the title of the entry. The festival cannot accept responsibility for damage or loss of materials while in transit. Please use only plastic or bubble pack envelopes when shipping entries.

We accept submissions from anywhere and everywhere in the world. Just make sure you follow all the submission guidelines in the application, and remember that our deadlines are RECEIVED BY deadlines, NOT POSTMARK DEADLINES. In other words, we must have your screener in our hands by the usual deadlines.

For works to be eligible for LA 2012 your film must have been completed in the last three years or on track for completion at the time of LA 2012.

The premiere status of your film is one of the factors we pay attention to as we make our programming decisions, and we strongly prefer world premieres. However, if we really love your film, we'll do our best to try to find a way to show it regardless.

Please select only ONE category for your entry when completing your entry form. We reserve the right to re-categorize submissions as we deem appropriate.

If accepted, AP exhibitors will receive an Exhibitor's manual with additional instructions and information on their exhibit, including projection location assignment, etc.
