Works produced by and/or about Asian Pacifics with themes involving, but NOT limited to, Asian Pacific American and/or Asian Pacific diasporic culture, history and experiences. For this category, we define "youth" as filmmakers age 20 and under. Filmmakers attending elementary, intermediate, and senior high school; or a preparatory academy or a community media arts workshop geared to youth are also eligible. All lengths and genres are eligible for consideration.
Unless entered as feature-length, works eligible for this category are typically categorized as short subject, please see the categories "Short Narrative Film" or "Short Documentary Film" for additional details.
Youth Media entries that can be characterized as experimental film or video are welcome and encouraged. When specifying category (Narrative or Non-Fiction), please indicate in the section "Niches" if the entry is experimental.
EXHIBITION FORMATS (Short Subjects):
FILM: 35mm, 16mm
VIDEO: Filmmakers of invited short videos and digital submissions MUST submit an MOV file, conforming to the following Codec or equivalent: Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) 1920X1080 24p 48khz
Signed entry form, screener, press kit and entry fee must be filed via Withoutabox.com; or postmarked by one of these dates:

There is no entry fee to submit a work in the Youth Media category.
If your short subject film entry is selected for exhibition, The Festival will also request the following optional materials to maximize exposure for your film: posters, color slides, broadcast-quality clip reel, etc.
Exhibition film prints of invited entries must be sent to the Festival pre-paid to arrive by March 24, 2014. Return or forward shipping will be covered by the Festival.
Invited entries in language(s) other than English must be subtitled in English.
The Festival does not pay rental fees. Instead, we choose to invest our resources in producing the best possible showcase for your work, and promoting your work as widely as possible.
