Category Rules

ENTRY RULES AND REGULATIONS: 2014DIFVF Mississippi Cetegory

The Mississippi category of the DIFVF is open to artists who are residents of Mississippi or attending colleges or universities in the state. Films by non-Mississippi residents are accepted only if they take place in the state of Mississippi.

All genres of film and video are eligible for the DIFVF.

Awards are given in select categories, including (but not limited to) Best Short, Best Experimental, Best Documentary, Best Documentary Short Best Animation, and Best of Mississippi.

If your film or video is selected for exhibition at the Festival, you must have your work available for screening on miniDV, or DVD (NTSC only, Region 0 or 1).
Entries must be submitted on DVD (NTSC only) for pre-screening.

Foreign language entries must be subtitled in English.

Entries must have been completed after January 1, 2009.

You may submit multiple entries but must include a separate entry form and fee for each entry.

Entries will not be returned.

Submissions must be postmarked by or on December 31, 2013 to be eligible for the $30 entry fee.

A copy of a current or university ID along with the appropriate entry fee must accompany all student entries.

All entries must be received by March 25, 2014. Entries not received by this time will be disqualified from consideration. Any fees paid are non-refundable.

Notification of acceptance to the Festival will be made as soon as possible after the jury takes place in April 2013.

If selected for the Festival, you will be asked to submit production stills, film/video synopsis, and brief filmography at that time.

Instructions for sending your print or tape to the festival will also be available at that time.



Exhibition tapes must be received by the Festival tone week prior to exhibition.



Payment of entry fee can be made by check or money order in US funds, payable to Delta State University.

Students must include a current copy of their Student ID.



The DIFVF will take the utmost care with the handling of pre-screening tapes and exhibition film prints and tapes. However the DIFVF cannot be held responsible for the damage or loss of media.
