Category Rules

Films entered into this category can be up to 40 minutes long. This year's theme is People Will Save the Rainforest. Filmmakers are encouraged to combine their interpretation of the theme with a forest-related topic to create their films.

The Student category is for individual students still in grades K-12. This category is also for K-12 classes who may submit as group. An individual aged 18 who is still in high school may enter in the Student category.

All film styles (documentary, animated, stop-motion, etc.) are accepted. Amateur and professional independent filmmakers of any age and at any stage in their career may enter. You may enter more than once, but each film requires a separate submission and a separate entry fee. Films entered must be completed after December 31, 2014.

Please see General Festival Rules for additional rules that apply to all entries.
