Screenwriting Challenge Winner

CATEGORY RULES
A 10-page comedic script presenting an updated revision of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We are not looking for a children's script necessarily, but rather a new take on an old and familiar tale.

The ten pages may present an entire tale or could be the first ten pages of a feature film. In either case, page 1 should be the opening of the film.

All submissions must be hard copy submissions mailed to the Broad Humor address. The title page of the script must not have the author's name nor should the writer's name appear anywhere else in the script.

All deadlines are postmark deadlines.

As with the short film invitational, alums receive a discount on submission. However, ALUMNAE OF THE FESTIVAL MUST CONTACT THE FESTIVAL AT INFO@BROADHUMOR.COM AND RECEIVE AUTHORIZATION PRIOR TO SUBMITTING TO RECEIVE THE DISCOUNT.

The judging takes into account the the strength of the writer's vision, and puts value on taking risks in style and narrative. A broad farce that only hits in places or a nonlinear absurdist experiment might be selected over a more traditional sitcom style script that is good but unexceptional.

By submitting, screenwriters assert that they are the owner and/or legal representative of this original work and are submitting same for review. While retaining all rights to ownership of the work, writers give The Broad Humor Film Festival permission to feature, advertise, display, in whole or in part, the work titled and described above in the festival and for promotion of the festival.

Entries are valid only upon completion of the following conditions: timely receipt of a hard copy of the work, and receipt of the entry fee sent directly to the festival organization or paid through Withoutabox.

Prizes will be awarded according to the decision of the judges and at the discretion of the Festival. Not all prizes will necessarily be given depending upon submissions.

Materials will not be returned and the Festival is not responsible for their loss or damage.

PLEASE NOTE: As with all script submissions to Broad Humor, all writers must be female. If a script is written with a male collaborator, the submission will be disqualified.
