This category is a competition.


Grand Jury Prize
• $500 in cash (USD). • Prestigious crystal trophy. • Laurel leaf certificate suitable for framing. • Your script guaranteed to be read by at least one independent producer currently in the market for LGBT material or material written by a LBGT writer. • Face-to-face one-on-one meeting with experienced producer. Your chance to ask questions about the industry, the business side of screenwriting, or anything you desire. Your meeting will be a minimum of two hours long and will include at least one producer. Other producers, directors and film experts might also be invited to attend as well. Meeting shall occur either in person or via Skype or other telephone communication and shall occur within one year of prize award. Winners are allowed to bring an interpreter if desired. • Professional photograph of you taken at awards ceremony (applicable only to those who attend the film festival). • Listing service at InkTip, the industry’s leading script marketplace database. This includes pitch/logline, story synopsis, treatment and full script listed for six months and made available to Hollywood producers, studio executives, agents, managers, and other industry professionals. • Name announced in press or media. • Event favors and VIP badge for all events on all days at the San Antonio LGBT International Film Festival (non-transferrable).

Finalist Feature Film Screenplay

CATEGORY RULES
1. Screenplays and Teleplays should meet one of the two following criteria:
• Have at least one of the authors as a member of the LGBT community, regardless of genre or subject matter of the script.
• If none of the authors are members of the LGBT community then the script should be of LGBT interest in regard to genre or subject matter OR depict LGBT characters.
2. Feature film entries should be at least 75 pages and should not exceed 130 pages, not including cover page. Short film & teleplays should be 74 pages or less.
3. Formatting should meet basic industry standards as accomplished by the use of screenwriting software. Please ensure you include page numbers and are no smaller than 12 point Courier font.
4. Teleplay scripts should be in either 22nd or 42nd page, the industry standard for 30 and 60 minute shows. However, exceptions are permitted for non-traditional show formats such as reality, variety or sketch comedy.
5. DO include a cover page with your contact information and details. OR use WAO cover page option when submitting.
6. Electronic .PDF format is preferred. However, other acceptable formats include Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx), Rich Text (.rtf), Plain Text (.txt) , Final Draft (.fdr or .fdx), Celtex (.celtx).
7. Submissions must be written in, or translated to, the English language.

9. Screenplays should not have been produced nor optioned. Screenplays that are currently optioned or have negotiations pending and/or are sold before the competition ends are not eligible for competition.
10. You may enter more than one screenplay, but you must submit them separately and pay separate entry fees.
11. Screenplays should be copyrighted with the Library of Congress and/or registered with the Writers Guild of America (WGA). It is the responsibility of the screenwriter to ensure that their work is protected.
12. All payments must be in U.S. Dollars and must be paid online through the WAB payment system; except in the case of hard copy submissions where payment must be included with submission.
13. Entrants retain all rights to their screenplays.
14. Entries will not be returned. Be sure to retain a copy of all material submitted.
15. Once a script has been entered into competition, we will not accept substitutions or revised drafts. If you wish to submit a revised draft of your script, you must enter it as a new submission.
16. By entering this contest, you represent that your entry is your original work, and does not infringe on the copyright or other rights of other people.
17. Entrants must fully comply with these General Entry Rules & Regulations, including deadline(s) and entry format requirements.
18. Purchasing additional judges coverage in no way assists or effects your standing in or eligibility for the primary competition. All coverage requests are performed after the work has been through its highest phase in the judging process.
19. Entry fees are non-refundable.
20. The decisions of the judges are final.
