Category Rules

This is the fourth year that we are offering a High School film competition at the festival and it is proving to be a great success for all. High school student films presented at DCIFF should usually be 20 minutes or less in length.

You MUST be a CURRENT HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT to qualify (submit your current School ID) or have graduated in Spring/Summer 2014. (we still want to see the ID please).

A press kit is not necessary, but for this category we would very much like you to include a short letter with your submission that gives us a sense of how this film came to life. You can either do this in the Withoutabox Cover Letter Section, or send it in with your DVD to 1435 Holly Street NW, Washington DC or via email to dciffsubmissions@gmail.com (PLEASE WRITE FILM TITLE AND PRESS MATERIALS IN THE SUBJECT LINE OF THE EMAIL).

***IMPORTANT!!!***
By submitting to the festival, the filmmaker(s) acknowledges that no film accepted for screening in competition at DCIFF will be withdrawn without the express written permission of DCIFF given in DCIFF sole discretion. There are no exceptions to this rule even in the case of technical issues. In the event a screening print is not delivered, DCIFF reserves the right to screen publicly the DVD or VHS submission. This being said, we expect to work with filmmakers to resolve all issues to everyone's satisfaction.

Thank you.
