CATEGORY RULES
* Category Rules

Open to any student enrolled in a participating Shanghai and South Florida college/university on the completion date of the film. Miami/South Florida schools include Barry University, Florida International University, Miami Dade College, Miami International University, New World School of the Arts (University of Florida) St. Thomas University and the University of Miami. Shanghai schools include East China University, East China Normal University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Shanghai Normal University, Shanghai Theatre Academy, Shanghai University.

* Films may be a narrative short, documentary short, experimental short, or animation

* Maximum runtime: 15-20 minutes

* Film completion date must be October 2012 or later. Films submitted in a prior year are ineligible.

* Submissions must be final cuts

* Submissions will be open from November 4, 2013 until January 3 , 2014.

* Submission deadline Friday January 3, 2014 is FINAL we cannot consider submissions after this date

* Films submitted may be part of a class project or an independent piece

* Miami CinemaSlam submissions MUST be uploaded to withoutabox in an acceptable resolution.

* An English dialogue list is required as part of the submission process, to enable Shanghai Film Festival to translate/sub-title the winning Miami shorts into English for Chinese audiences.

* The submission fee for Miami/South Florida entries is $10
