CINE Golden Eagle Awards
A production worthy of a CINE Golden Eagle will be clear and concise in its structure and writing, with strong visuals, sound elements, and editing. Visuals and sound will be creatively and appropriately employed, with camera work, audio recording, narration, music, and graphics of a high technical quality that support the writing and editing to achieve a cohesive final production that fulfills the stated purpose of the project. CINE Golden Eagle entries do not compete against each other; rather they are judged against a high standard of excellence. Judging criteria include: storytelling, production value, artistry, effective communication to the intended audience, and overall excellence. How well a production measures up to the standards it sets for itself, described in the “purpose” section of the entry form, is especially important.

Categories in the Televised Documentary & Performance, Televised Reality, Televised News, Televised Fiction and Children’s Education & Entertainment Divisions

Episodes under 25:00 minutes: $150
Episodes longer than 25:00 minutes: $250
Series Consideration: $100 additional
All Entries Submitted After February 21, 2014: $25 additional

Producers of televised series (defined as 3 or more episodes) can submit that series for additional recognition; if the series is selected to receive a Golden Eagle Award, it will receive extra recognition for excellence in series television.

Submit ONE (1) entry form on behalf of the entire series.
Select THREE (3) episodes to represent the series for judging.
On the entry form, check that you are submitting a series.
If you are submitting DVDs, submit each episode on its own disc, please.

You may submit DVDs or online screeners.

DVDs: DVDs MUST be submitted on NTSC, Region 0 or 1, to ensure compatibility with standard consumer DVD players. No PAL or DVD-RWs, please. Remove all bumpers and commercials from any DVD screeners. We require 2 DVD copies of each submission, to be mailed to CINE HQ (4641 Montgomery Ave., Suite 512, Bethesda, MD 20814).

ONLINE SCREENERS: Please provide a link at which your entry (or, if you are submitting a series, one link per episode) may be viewed online on Vimeo, YouTube or a private non-Flash player; if a password is required, please provide it in the appropriate field. The video must be streaming at a site that does NOT require a paid subscription (eg Netflix, Hulu+, Amazon Prime). CINE is not responsible for broken or expired URLs.

We will confirm receipt of all screener materials. Screeners are shared only with CINE judges, who are bound by CINE’s Code of Ethics to keep all screeners and passwords private and confidential.

Your production must have aired AFTER January 1, 2013 (if submitting a series, selected episodes must have aired after 1/1/13). You may submit a production/series that has not yet aired, as long as it is complete. NO WORKS IN PROGRESS. CINE only accepts complete, finished productions.

You may re-submit a program that was previously entered into a CINE Competition as long as it did not previously receive a CINE Golden Eagle Award, and otherwise meets CINE’s eligibility requirements.

CINE accepts submissions from any country. For judging purposes, programs that are not in English must be submitted with English subtitles.
