FEATURE FILM PROJECTS-IN-PROGRESS SUBMISSIONS

WANTED: Commercially viable motion picture projects, either in the packaging phase or newly shot -- works that are both meaningful and marketable.

***Bear in mind the materials called for here are for FILM-COM screening purposes only, not the full set of materials you should present in person to financiers, network execs, producers, potential co-production companies, agents, writer/producer reps or other packaging partners.***

Feature film submissions should be more than just a screenplay, but prior to a completed film that's already being marketed; i.e. the project package should involve elements at least including budget, promo art, synopsis, some production team, ideally [though not necessarily] including some funding, some attachments, some distribution, some service equity, some product integration, some footage shot, be in post-production, or a combination of any of the above.

MATERIALS SUBMISSIONS PROCESS::

Once filmmakers have officially entered and provided fee via Withoutabox,

You must go to the Film-Com website at www.film-com.com and fill out the PROJECT ENTRY FORM, where you will include all relevant business information about your project, and:

1] Brief synopsis
2] Promo sizzler or sample footage, no more than 4 minutes in length
3] 1-sheet promo art -- this will be used in FILM-COM Product Catalog
:
NOTE 1: FILM-COM DOES NOT READ OR PROCESS SCREENPLAYS..

NOTE 2: DO NOT UPLOAD COMPLETED SCRIPTS OR FULL-LENGTH TREATMENTS; however, for your own protection, all projects must have either treatment or script registered with the Writers Guild of America West or Writers Guild of American East or the Library of Congress prior to submitting to Film-Com. YOU MUST SUBMIT THE PROJECT'S WGAe, WGAw or LoC REGISTRATION NUMBER WHEN YOU SEND REQUIRED MATERIALS TO FILM-COM. If you are submitting from a country outside the USA, then you must show proof of copyright registration with the certified entity in your own country. If there is no certified entity, then register with the WGA or WGAe as indicated above at www.wga.org or www.wgaeast.org

TECHNICAL NOTE: As you are setting up your project info, when asked to check on either Produced Film or Unproduced Script -- WAB currently only has these two categories -- please check on Produced Film. While Film-Com focuses on projects-in-progress, as indicated, we do not read or process screenplays, and are not a screenplay pitch event. Each project must range from at least the packaging phase to being newly shot, so for classification purposes, we will consider it a film being produced.

Film-Com FYI --

Projects are selected by marketability.

In order to present to industry executives, potential financiers and co-production partners, you must plan to participate in FILM-COM fully to present to execs in attendance, for as long as you can, and with as much detail as you have available.

There are NUMEROUS opportunities for you to interact with industry executives during the span of FILM-COM, and you should engage in all these activities to establish as many relationships as you possibly can from the beginning of the process to the end. This is how contacts get made, how projects get packaged and ultimately launched.
