Excellence in Short Filmmaking
The Excellence in Short Filmmaking Award is a competition award given to the best short film by a filmmaker of Asian descent and/or about the Asian/ Asian American community. The winner will be picked by a panel of judges and stand to win attractive prizes. Category Rules

The AAIFF accepts completed film and video submissions produced, written, or directed by media makers of Asian descent from any nationality, or about the Asian community. Do not submit works-in-progress, which has its own submission category.

- Works must have been completed after January 1, 2014.
- Check to make sure your DVDs play smoothly on standard DVD players from beginning to end without skipping or getting stuck. Malfunctioning DVDs may be disqualified.
- Each entry must be clearly labeled with: director's name, work title, total running time, WAB tracking number.
- Please send three (3) submission DVDs. Submission DVDs will not be returned.
- Each project must be on a separate DVD. Do not submit compilations and/or other projects not intended for this CFE.
- If selected, exhibition DVDs and tapes must be sent PRE-PAID to the festival.
- If selected, AAIFF will cover return shipping of exhibition tapes. DVDs will not be returned unless specified.
- All applicants will be notified by email late-June 2015.
- You must contact us immediately if you desire to withdraw your work from our consideration.
- The festival does not pay rental fees.
