Category Rules

Swedish films with runtimes of 30 minutes or shorter.

Projects can´t have had their world premiere before November 20th 2017.

To be considered a Swedish film the film must be produced in Sweden
and/or be produced by a Swedish director and/or producer. The latter is
defined as either Swedish residents and/or a company registered in Sweden.

To be eligible for the 1 Km Film competition the submission must include a description of an upcoming project. The application should have a project presentation with a synopsis and the directors personal statement. We do not have a specific premiere requirement for 1 Km Film, however, the film must have been produced during 2018. For more information, please see our website.

Note: SIFF prefers that all Swedish short films presented are, at minimum, World Premiere. We will accept submissions that have already premiered in the nordic region, but the film’s premiere status will be taken into consideration when final programming decisions are made. Our absolute minimum requirement is Swedish premiere.

Please read our regulations in full before submitting your film.
