Category Rules

Guidelines for Entry


There is no age limit for submissions but entrants under 18yrs must be authorized by a guardian or teacher;

Entry fees are required for submitting films; see Withoutabox for details.

Applicants can be from anywhere in the world;

The White Sands International Film Festival is open to all types of films (animated, documentaries, short commentaries etc) but they must incorporate a relevant story line that is dynamic.

DVDs/BluRays must be submitted complete with English commentary and / or English dialogue or in the original version with English subtitles;

The Festival has the right to use the supplied stills and information (for press, books, posters, stills etc ) to promote the festival;

All shipping costs and insurance to and from the festival office are the sender's responsibility. If you choose to have your DVD returned, DVD's must be accompanied by return postal instructions and a prepaid self - addressed envelope...

The Festival Organizers cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to any Video/DVD in its possession.

Entries must include the following:

2x BluRay DVD master copies for screening.

Online production stills. These may be used for publicity and the festival program should the film be selected to screen during the festival. A production still is usually direct action from the film rather than behind the scenes photos.

A shortlist process will take place immediately following the closing time, so late submissions (see late submission dates at Withoutabox for terms and conditions of late entry) cannot be accepted.
