Category Rules

Terms Of Entry:

1> Films must have been completed after January 1st, 2011.

2> Entries must be sent on DVD.

3> Once selected, the film must have available either a 35mm, NTSC Digibeta / BetaSP or DVD for projection.

4> AT LEAST ONE representative (producer and director) of each competitive project are required to be part of a Q&A session immediately following their screening(s).

5> Participants agree that clips from their film and all other material related to their project may be used and/or published in the event program, SMIFF web site and for any promotional purposes which SMIFF deems appropriate.

6> No viewing tapes and/or promotional materials will be returned to the filmmaker.

7> If selected, all commercial/private property including all trademark/copyrighted materials shown or recorded on the project is the responsibility of the filmmaker. SMIFF will NOT take responsibility for any infringement of copy written materials.

8> The cost of delivery and pick-up of all materials is the responsibility of the filmmaker.

9> SMIFF holds no responsibility for lost or damaged prints. While the utmost care will be taken with regard to prints, it is solely up to the filmmaker to take full responsibility (i.e.insurance).

10>Submission fees are non-refundable unless Festival grants a refund request.
