Category Rules

We are looking for for vital films that bring people together with universal stories, be they shorts, features or documentaries. Cinémonde was created to support thought-provoking cinema that needs a special venue in New York City to reach intelligent audiences to get people working in the film & media industry to start talking about your work. One of the key elements is having the filmmaker(s) present at the screening (either in person or via Skype) to introduce the film and participate in a Q&A afterward with the audience, if possible. We screen films with other members of the creative team present as well. When the physical presence of the filmmakers is not possible, we record a Skype interview with the filmmakers and then screen the interview as an introduction before the screening begins.
