Prizes & Awards

Loni Ding Award in Social Issue Documentary
The Center for Asian American Media (CAAM) has established an award in memory of Loni Ding’s spirit and vision for creating media about the Asian American experience. The Award of $1,000 will be given to a promising Asian American short form filmmaker whose work illuminates the experiences of underrepresented communities. The award will be announced in March at CAAM’s annual festival, the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival. The winner will be selected by a committee comprised of CAAM staff and Loni’s former students.
Cash Award Value: 1,000 U.S. Dollar

Student Filmmaker Awards
The Center for Asian American Media (CAAM) is proud to showcase and celebrated emerging student filmmakers at CAAMFest. Student shorts will be eligible for the awards and between 2-4 student filmmakers win annually. The winners will be selected by a committee comprised of CAAM staff and sponsored jury.
Cash Award Value: 1,000 U.S. Dollar

Category Rules

Short films or videos must be made by or about Asian Americans or Asians of any nationality. Running time must be shorter than 50 minutes.
