This category is a competition.

1st Place
AOF Winners receive prize packages in every category that include Free AOF Ticket Packages, Cash or Sponsor Packages from companies like Video Symphony and EVS Online which gave out over $25,000 in Professional Training Scholarships and Equipment Rental Packages in 2010. In 2011 AVID gave out copies of AVID Composer and other AVID Software Packages. These Prizes Packages are split between Features, Shorts and Documentary Divisions. In addition ALL AOF Division Winners Receive beautiful AOF Awards at the Star and Industry Packed Black Tie Dinner and Award Show. Participation in the AOF Award Show is not necessary to win.

Special Jury Award
The Xristos Award is named for Xristos Harrington and is given to the Best Guerilla Projects submitted in Feature, Short and Experimental Divisions. The Award includes Sony Editing and Post Production Software and Equipment, Scholarships to the Stella Adler Acting Academy Specialty Publications, Promotion and More.

Choice Awards

Category Rules

All entries will be judged on content, creativity, imagery, story and skill of the filmmaker. Productions produced from 2011 to July 2017 may be submitted. Works in progress will be accepted. All films must be submitted via online formats or DVD (Region 1 or Region 0) for consideration by the Selection Committee.

Each entry must be submitted separately on Withoutabox. All entries must be sent to the Action on Film Festival prepaid and, for your own protection, should be insured. Films selected for the Action on Film Festival will be announced by August 11, 2017 (approximate)

All presentation materials for the Action on Film Festival must arrive in Los Angeles no later than August 12, 2017. Please notify us by mail, fax or email of any address changes. We accept Film, Digital, Animation etc. for judging, however All Final Submissions should they be accepted into the festival, must be on DVD, Blu Ray, or DCP formats. We will NOT accept PAL or Online Screeners for Festival Exhibition. WE DO NOT RETURN EXHIBITION COPIES.
