This category is a competition.

1st Place
Documentaries of all lengths are considered as a category for awards. The AIFF top prize in each category is an Alaskan Native handcarved walrus oosik (petrified bone) and a certificate of achievement.

Category Rules

Any feature length documentary film completed after January 1, 2014, regardless of content, subject or origin, will be accepted. Length must be at least 55 minutes and no more than 120 minutes. The film cannot have been screened in Alaska, or in any other US state, on broadcast or cable TV, prior to December 4, 2015. Films being sold commercially on DVD may not be accepted at the programming director's discretion.
