Category Rules

A feature length documentary of 75 minutes or more made for cinematic, theatrical or dvd release.

Only full financial ADG members are eligible to nominate themselves or another member in this category.

Except for student films, only works publicly screened for the first time between July 1, 2011 and December 31, 2012 are eligible for entry in the 2013 ADG Awards.

If more than one category may be applied to an entry, the onus is on the entrant to submit to the category that they feel is best fit. However if insufficient entries are received for a category the entrant will be contacted to decide if they wish to alter their decision and submit into another category that could apply.

All feature films entered and accepted into the ADG Awards will be eligible for the ADG/DGA Finders Series Award if they conform to the following criteria:

1. The film conforms to the normal eligibility criteria that are required to enter the ADG Awards;
2. The film does not have distribution In the United States of America;
3. The director will make him/herself available travel with the film to Los Angeles on dates to be confirmed;
4. Feature length entries with a theatrical release in Australia are eligible.


Judging
1. The ADG/DGA Finders Series Award will be shortlisted after consultation with judges in the feature film categories;
2. The winner of the award will be selected by this group of judges in consultation with the President and General Manager of the ADG ;
3. The winner of the award will be announced at the ADG Awards;
4. The judging panel reserves its right to not give the award if a suitable film is not found that meets the criteria;
5. The ADG reserves the right to include feature films that may not have been submitted for the 2013 ADG awards in special circumstances.
