Category Rules

Any non-fiction film 40+ minutes.

If accepted, we ask that the filmmaker attend the festival in person or have a female representative from the film attend the festival in person. Because building a strong network of female filmmakers is large part of our mission as a festival, and because our community is an avid independent film community that believes in the engagement and discussion of filmmaking, we require attendance with acceptance. So please don't apply unless you have a strong desire to come join us in a super-fun Midwestern college town that truly loves independent film and wants to celebrate your work with you! We work hard to make the festival weekend a relaxing, engaging, and exciting time for artists and we cover these costs. The acceptance of the film is contingent on having someone represent the film at the festival. We see our festival more an artist's retreat than a typical festival and a place to share ideas and experience with a diverse group of artists in different areas and stages of filmmaking experiences.
