Best Canadian Feature Film
Trophy Award

The Harold Greenberg Fund's Green Screen Award
The Harold Greenberg Fund's Green Screen Award for the film or TV series that demonstrate best environmental practices during production. Films submitted for Best Canadian Feature must submit for this award to be considered for the Festival.

This prize is shared with other categories.

Mark Haslam Award
Trophy award. This prize is awarded to one film in any genre from the festival that gives voice to individuals, communities, struggles, or stories that are under-represented in the media and made by a filmmaker who is a member or participant in that story. The selected work demonstrates the power to inspire reflection and positive action towards the social and ecological health of the planet. All Feature films will be automatically considered for this Award which is juried by the Festival Programmers.

Category Rules

Entries to Best Canadian Feature Category are automatically considered for the following additional awards:

1) The Harold Greenberg Fund's Green Screen Award - additional information must be provided in order to be considered in this category. If the information is not provided then the film will not be considered for any sort of participation in the Festival.

2) Mark Haslam Award - films are automatically considered This award is Juries by the Festival Programmers.

• Submission deadlines: Early-Bird: May 30, 2014, Regular deadline: June 20, 2014, Late Deadline: June 21, 2014

• Only films completed after January 1st, 2013 will be considered for official selection

• A video link must be submitted for review by the Jury

• 2 DVDs must be sent to Planet in Focus via registered mail (Fedex etc). The package must read: “For Festival Preview Only – No Commercial Value” and be valued for less than $20—Planet in Focus will not pay customs fees on shipments or shipping fees

• All non-English language films must have English subtitles

• All entries will be automatically submitted to The Green Market which is held during the Festival and open to industry delegates.

- All entries will be automatically submitted to the PIF Archive which is North America's largest collection of environmental films. PIF programs other initiatives from the Archive and if your film is selected you will be contacted and offered an appropriate screening fee.

• Upon official acceptance into the Festival, your film is not permitted to screen in Toronto/GTA or be broadcast a full eight (8) weeks prior to the Festival

• Notification will be issued by email in mid September.
