1st Place
The “Writer’s Block” Award. There will be one (1) “Grand Prize” title awarded to the screenplay deemed to be the overall best screenplay by the competition judges. This screenplay will have a 1 in 3 chance of being produced by Year of the Skunk Productions. The “Grand Prize” title also comes with a purchase agreement for Five Hundred Canadian Dollars (CAD $500.00) prize, accreditation to attend the 2014 Yorkton Film Festival (including complimentary shuttle ground transportation from Regina airport to Yorkton and one (1) ticket to attend the Golden Sheaf Awards gala event), personalized Writer’s Block crystal award and additional prize package TBD and subject to availability from competition sponsors.

Value of Goods/Services: 1,100 Canadian Dollar

2nd Place
The “2nd Place” Award. There will be one (1) “2nd Place” title awarded to the screenplay deemed to be the 1st runner-up to the Grand Prize by the competition judges. The “2nd Place” title also comes with a purchase agreement for Two Hundred Canadian Dollars (CAD $200.00) prize, accreditation to attend the 2014 Yorkton Film Festival (including complimentary shuttle ground transportation from Regina airport to Yorkton and one (1) ticket to attend the Golden Sheaf Awards gala event) an additional prize package TBD and subject to availability from competition sponsors and a 1 in 3 chance their screenplay will be produced into a short film.

Writer's Wednesday Laureate
One (1) Writer's Wednesday Laureate will be selected from amongst all of the competition entrants for the current competition year. This is a one year honorary position wherein the selected writer will be handed over the dedicated Wednesday column and blog slot to muse and amuse on the topic of filmmaking, writing and short film(s). There is no cash value to this prize. Only a dedicated audience and soapbox upon which to showcase your literary skills and wordsmithing.
