PRIZES & AWARDS
This category is a competition.

CINE Golden Eagle Awards
A production worthy of a CINE Golden Eagle will be clear and concise in its structure and writing, with strong visuals, sound elements, and editing. Visuals and sound will be creatively and appropriately employed, with camera work, audio recording, narration, music, and graphics of a high technical quality that support the writing and editing to achieve a cohesive final production that fulfills the stated purpose of the project. CINE Golden Eagle entries do not compete against each other; rather they are judged against a high standard of excellence. Judging criteria include: storytelling, production value, artistry, effective communication to the intended audience, and overall excellence. How well a production measures up to the standards it sets for itself, described in the “purpose” section of the entry form, is especially important.

SCREENERS

You must submit an online screener. We accept both private (password-protected) Vimeo and YouTube links, as well as links to private non-Flash players; if a password is required, please provide it in the appropriate field. The video must be streaming at a site that does NOT require a paid subscription (eg Netflix, Hulu+, Amazon Prime). CINE is not responsible for broken or expired URLs.

We will confirm receipt of all screener materials. Screeners are shared only with CINE judges, who are bound by CINE’s Code of Ethics to keep all screeners private and confidential.

ELIGIBILITY

This production must have been produced while enrolled in an accredited high school, undergraduate or graduate school or program. The filmmaker does not have to be a film or media major, but must identify the school and year of study on the entry form. Filmmakers who have graduated may submit to the student category as long as the film was produced while enrolled in the school or university.

The film CANNOT have been produced as a work-for-hire, or be broadcast or theatrically distributed (excluding film festivals).

All student films must be under 30:00 minutes.

The production must have been completed AFTER January 1, 2013. You may submit a production that has not yet premiered or been distributed, as long as it is complete. NO WORKS IN PROGRESS. CINE only accepts complete, finished productions.

You may re-submit a program that was previously entered into a CINE Competition as long as it did not previously receive a CINE Golden Eagle Award, and otherwise meets CINE’s eligibility requirements.

GLOBAL/FOREIGN LANGUAGE SUBMISSIONS

CINE accepts submissions from any country. For judging purposes, programs that are not in English must be submitted with English subtitles.
