CATEGORY RULES
International documentaries must highlight a libertarian theme and be set primarily outside the U.S.. They should present a problem created by authoritarian control and solved by personal resolve or free enterprise. The theme may be subtle. The authoritarian figure could be a parent, employer, or school board; it does not have to be a government. We are looking for films that celebrate individual initiative, personal accountability, and self-reliance.
At least 51% of funding must come from non-U.S. sources.
English subtitles are preferred, but dubbing is acceptable.
Length must be between 40 and 95 minutes. Documentaries longer than 95 minutes will not be considered.
