> Photo of the Director - Digital
> Biography/Filmography - Director

This category is a competition.

Best Documentary
Awarded by the Festival Jury to the Best Documentary Film (Films are nominated by the Selection Committee)
This prize is shared with other categories.

Category Rules

Films must feature South Asian content, subject matter, inspiration.
OR
The work of a South Asian Artist in a prominent capacity (writer, director, actor)

A complete submission consists of
1) Submission Form
2) Submission Fees paid in full
3) Press Kit - including synopsis, cast and crew info, and 4 digital stills
4) 4 DVD Screeners

Entrants must fully comply with these Entry Rules & Regulations, including all deadlines, film length, entry material and other requirements.

ELIGIBILITY
Submitted works MUST satisfy ANY ONE of the criteria below:

1. The film's country of origin is within the Indian Subcontinent.

2. The film features a significant contribution by a Filmmaker(s), Actor(s), Writer(s), Director(s) of South Asian descent living outside the subcontinent.

3. The film features significant South Asian content, inspiration, or subject matter.

PREMIERE STATUS
Only films that have not premiered in New York, or the Tri-State Area will remain in consideration.

LANGUAGE
Non-English language works must have English subtitles at the time submitted. Dialogue lists will not be accepted.

ENTRY MATERIALS
All entries must include the following:

1. ENTRY FORM

2. SUBMISSION FEES PAID IN FULL

3. PREVIEW COPIES
FOUR DVD Screeners (NTSC) formatted Zone 1 or Multi-region.
OR A Secure Online Screener uploaded to Withoutabox

4. PRESS KIT – including:
a) 4 Hi-Res publicity stills
b) 15 sec trailer
c) Director's picture & bio
d) Cast and Crew information.

Note: It is Entrant’s sole responsibility to ensure all ENTRY MATERIALS arrive at the NYIFF 2014 shipping destination within the deadline. The Festival reserves the right to disqualify any submission, without refund of any kind, which does not arrive at the NYIFF 2014 shipping destination within the deadline window selected by Entrant.

Entry materials will not be returned and will be destroyed or discarded by the Festival.

MULTIPLE ENTRIES
Each entered film must be submitted on its own DVDs or Secure Online Screener, accompanied by its own completed "Entry Form"; please do not upload a screener or send a compilation DVD of composed of multiple works for separate entries.

RE-ENTRY
If your work was submitted and considered for previous editions of the New York Indian Film Festival, you may re-enter it if you have made significant changes and if all eligibility requirements are met (see above).
