|Narrative and documentary films 45 minutes in length and under.
|Mountain Kids Film brings quality, inspiring, international programming to young people and families. We believe that the medium of film has the power to inspire and educate children and empower them to get involved and make a difference in their community. Adventurous, enchanting, intellectual, artistic; we have films that will delight and inspire children, teens, and families alike – films that empower youth to engage, question, experience, and create.
MISSION & OBJECTIVE
The Crested Butte Film Festival (CBFF) is an international film festival dedicated to celebrating the art of film, our connection with filmmakers, and the power of storytelling.
Our mission is to inspire and educate our audience through films and discussions that spark creativity, cultural awareness and social and environmental change.
(It's also to showcase our great little town - one of the coolest, most intimate, beautiful places around.)
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Thank you for considering Crested Butte for your film. We accept films of any length, genre and language.
Our festival is held in the high mountains of Colorado, just as the aspens leaves are turning; a place where beauty, intimacy and friendships abound. CBFF showcases the best of American and international cinema in what is known as, "America's last great ski town."
CBFF seeks the best in international and American narratives, shorts, environmental and social action documentaries, outdoor adventure, and children's films - in both the feature-length and short categories. We also love to discover and program great first films and follow a filmmaker's career from there - we're a place to be seen and discovered.
CBFF is an intimate festival. All our venues are within easy walking and biking distance. Our films play to intelligent, appreciative crowds. Come discover Crested Butte - and have your film play in a town where life is simplified...
"SMALL TOWN. BIG FILMS. Crested Butte Film Festival combines small town intimacy with thought-provoking films that inspire action".
-Beth and George Gage, Co-Directors, AMERICAN OUTRAGE, BIDDER 70
"WE HAD A GREAT TIME at the Crested Butte Festival - friendly people, great films, and the most beautiful location on Earth!"
-Alex Cox, Director, REPO MAN, SID AND NANCY, WALKER
"CBFF WAS A JOY TO ATTEND. It took on big films and big ideas, and was by far the most fluid, easy-going festival that I have been to. And it doesn't hurt that CBFF happens to take place during perhaps the most beautiful weeks of the year in Colorado."
-Eliza Slayman, Film Representative, FROM THE GROUND UP
Thanks so much for considering your film for our festival. The Crested Butte Film Festival looks forward to seeing your film and hopefully screening it in our great little town where you do not need a car, but get to walk and bike from venue to venue, meeting our enthusiastic, friendly crowds. If your film is chosen to be a part of our 2015 Festival, we are happy to provide free accommodations for you and a guest. We’ll also share with you great hospitality, parties, bike rides, the opportunity to network, and most importantly, to build relationships with other filmmakers. We are, unfortunately, unable to fly filmmakers and representatives to Crested Butte at this time, but we will make your stay here a fun, heart-felt, and rewarding experience.
The following information will answer most of your submission questions. If you’re ready to submit your film, please jump to the bottom of the page and click on the Withoutabox icon.
