MISSION & OBJECTIVE
The Brownfish Short Film Festival NYC was created to:

-- showcase short films by emerging filmmakers and screenwriters --

-- support the development of the filmmaker and screenwriter as an artist --

-- connect filmmakers and screenwriters with industry and audiences --

From page to production, from production to profession, the BSFFNYC strives to incubate bold, creative, new voices in filmmaking. This is a judged contest awarding cash and prizes. We believe the greatest support given to filmmakers and screenwriters are resources and funding to make more films.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Since 1999, Brownfish.com has been dedicated to helping filmmakers get their films seen. Starting off an online distribution hub for short films, Brownfish.com grew into a production company developing 5 original webseries and producing over a dozen short films such as Pope & Jesus, Plant Man, The Game, The Package, God’s Basement and The Funny FUNNY show.

The third annual Brownfish Short Film Festival NYC will be held in New York City November 1 - 3, 2013. As always, Brownfish.com is dedicated to helping filmmakers get their films seen, distributed and grow their career.

The BSFFNYC showcases short films under 20 minutes competing for cash and prize awards in the categories: Comedy, Drama, Documentary and Animation.

In the BSFFNYC Short Screenplay Competition, short screenplays 15 pages and under have staged readings and compete for cash and prize awards in the categories of Comedy and Drama.

Along with film screenings and staged readings, the BSFFNYC presents seminars and workshops with industry professionals to provide emerging filmmakers and screenwriters with the information and advice needed to take their projects and careers to the next level.
