With readership around the world we expect the marriage of the website and the festival will provide an amazing forum and recognition for great films.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
New films are being released every day, every month of the year. We therefore, do not constrain recognition of films to a yearly event, but have an open rolling deadline so that we can recognize shorts films when filmmakers are ready to have the world see them! The online recognition also enables us to give awards to short films at the start of their festival run and throughout the year before the film festival that will help them promote their work and be a means to get acceptance into other festivals.
Because of the format short films receive immediate attention as a panel of judges consider them for quarterly recognition. Winning short films in each quarter compete for the year end annual awards. The end of the year judges will select films to be screened at our festival.
The unlisted deadline for short films submission is the last day of each quarter (March, June, September, December). Winners in a variety of short film categories will be determined and posted the following month after the end of a quarter and the quarterly winners will compete for yearly "best of" awards at the film festival.
Eric Chenjie Pan (Director); Kristy Hine (Hospitality Coordinator); Scott Eriksson (Co-Director)
For us the rules are simple. We want filmmakers to tell us where their film fits and diversity is encouraged in all aspects of filmmaking, story telling and how a story is told. Eligible films must have Asian/Pacific Islanders involved in some major aspect of a film project either producing, writing, directing, acting, cinematography or editing and in accordance with our mission and goals.
