MISSION & OBJECTIVE

The mission of WAMMFest (Women And Minorities in Media Festival) is to celebrate and promote women and minorities in audio, video, animation, and film at a student and professional level.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

In celebration of the 9th International WAMMFest, Women And Minorities in Media Festival, we are pleased to announce our annual call for short audio and video works by student and professional media makers.

All works entered must either be created with a women and/or minority in a key creative role (video: writer, producer, or director; audio: writer, producer, engineer, or mixer) or of interest to women and/or minorities.

The works entered into WAMMFest will be juried with the official selections and winners playing during WAMMFest 16 running April 14-16, 2016. The judges will select category winners and the best work of the student and professional selected entries. These winning pieces must have a women and/or minority in a key creative role. There are laurels and accolades but not prize money associated with winning these awards.

This year, there are 2 WAMM awards for WAMM Local Artist (Professional and Student) from Maryland. Additionally, there are a limited number of travel scholarships and honorariums for officially selected film/media makers who attend the festival.
