Short Screenplay Competition
Filmmakers are encouraged to submit an original SHORT screenplay to SVFF’s SHORT SCREENPLAY competition and lab. The winning short script will be announced at the 2015 screenwriters lab in March. The winner will receive a $2500 stipend to bring the short film to life. As the producing partner on the film, SVFF will connect the winner with seasoned filmmaker participants, consultants, and production resources. WINNING SHORT MUST BE FILMED IN IDAHO.
Feature Screenplay Competition
All works must be original and unproduced as of January 1st, 2015.

Jim Rash and Nat Faxon, the Academy Award-winning writers of The Descendants and 2014’s comedy, The Way Way Back, will host the Screenwriters Lab, discuss their careers and present their latest work during a table read. The Screenwriters Lab is highlighted by the High Scribe Competition, giving finalists an opportunity for one-on-one meetings with some of the industry’s finest to discuss their work. The High Scribe winner is announced during the lab and a scene from their script is brought to life with professional actors. This is a very high-profile event for seasoned professionals, aspiring writers and film fans alike as it draws crowds, generates buzz and launches careers.
