Feature Length Screenplay Competition
This year's host of the Screenwriters Lab is writer/director/actor/producer Mark Duplass. Nat Faxon, the Academy Award-winning co-writer of The Descendants and 2014’s comedy, The Way Way Back, will be the judge mentor the Screenwriters Lab, discuss their careers and present their latest work during a table read. The Screenwriters Lab is highlighted by the High Scribe Competition, giving finalists an opportunity for one-on-one meetings with some of the industry’s finest to discuss their work. The High Scribe winner is announced during the lab and a scene from their script is brought to life with professional actors. This is a very high-profile event for seasoned professionals, aspiring writers and film fans alike as it draws crowds, generates buzz and launches careers.
