MISSION & OBJECTIVE
Derby Film Festival which includes both iD Fest (strand of activity exploring identity through film) and Fantastiq (Sci-fi, Horror and Fantasy festival) is a ten day film festival. The festival seeks to celebrate the world of film culture and specialized film along with giving inspirational experiences to new and emerging film makers by bringing leading figures from the world of film to Derby. 9th to 18th May 2014. Derby Film Festival is supported by the BFI and is a leading regional film festival in the UK.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Derby Film Festival 2014 is a development from the successful iD Fest which began in 2010 with a three day festival exploring English Identity through film.
Derby Film Festival is ten days long from the 9th to 18th May 2014 and will bring together film fans, film makers and industry figures.
Screenings, previews and showcase events with major figures from the world of film will be accompanied by workshops and master classes.
The festival will also include a strand of activity under the iD Fest banner exploring 'technology' and a four day celebration of Horror, Fantasy and Sci-Fi called 'Fantastiq'.
An open call for independently produced feature film submissions will be judged by a panel of industry experts with the selected films screened at the festival with an award for best film awarded to one selected film.
Submissions for 2014 are accepted for both short and feature films.
The patron of Derby Film festival is actor and director David Morrissey (The Walking Dead).
An award will be made for 'Best Film' from all selected titles.
Key industry figures appearing at the festival in the past include Terry Jones (Monty Python), Dame Janet Suzman (Oscar nominated actress), Paddy Considine (Bourne Identity, Dead Man's Shoes), Eve Stewart (Oscar nominated Production Designer of The King's Speech), Mike Hodges (Director Get Carter, Flash Gordon) and Brian Blessed (Star Wars Phantom Menace, Flash Gordon, Robin Hood Prince of Thieves).

Derby Film Festival (formerly iD Fest) is hereby granted the right to utilise an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes.
The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorised to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations.
The undersigned shall indemnify and hold harmless Derby Film Festival from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to legal fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.
