MISSION & OBJECTIVE

As fellow filmmakers we at the MassIFF understand the importance of reaching the right audience. Our goal since starting the festival has been to give filmmakers the exposure they need to help their films find a wide and appreciative audience. We want to present a diverse group of films and filmmakers, and showcase the best in independent film.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

The Massachusetts Independent Film Festival is run by New England filmmakers Christopher Di Nunzio, Jason Miller, Nolan Yee and Skip Shea with the initial goal of showcasing films from the New England area. After our first year the festival has expanded into a worldwide event for truly independent filmmakers. The festival has screened films from all over America, Australia, Iran, Italy, Japan and many other countries. We have also stayed true to our roots by offering screenings devoted to New England filmmakers. Plus we are always on the lookout for larger independents with Hollywood connections that retain their independent spirit. Films featuring Denis O' Hare, Jonathan Groff, Dean Stockwell, Bruce Greenwood and Illeana Douglas have been presented at the festival. Films from veteran directors like Susan Seidelman, actor James Franco and previous Sundance Selections were showcased in our festival. We always continue to promote the selected films long after the festival has ended with news postings, interviews with filmmakers, and anything that helps the film find a new audience. Please visit our youtube page at www.youtube.com/user/MassIndieFilmFest for a glimpse into previous festivals.
