MISSION & OBJECTIVE
The Morehead International Independent Film Festival (formerly: The Kentucky Independent Film Festival) aims to provide independent filmmakers with a new venue for exhibition of their work: selected films will be televised on KET, the PBS affiliate in Kentucky. KET reaches the state of Kentucky plus portions of the seven surrounding states.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The Morehead International Independent Film Festival (formerly: The Kentucky Independent Film Festival) was founded in 2012 by Jeffrey Hill, an associate professor at Morehead State University and a producer of documentary films and television shows. The festival hopes to attract short independent films suitable for public television broadcast, in order to both support independent films and expose Kentucky audiences to quality contemporary independent films.
The festival will not hold theatrical screenings of accepted films. Instead, the selected films will be grouped into half-hour programs for airing on KET. All genres of short films are accepted. Films must be no longer than 20 minutes and suitable for a general public television audience. The first round of judging will eliminate films with objectionable content (gratuitous sex or profanity, etc.). The second round of judging will focus primarily on artistic merit, originality, and interest.

GENERAL RULES
General Rules
Filmmakers are responsible for submitting DVDs that have been pre-tested for imperfections. If a disk freezes or doesn't launch in festival judges' machines, the festival reserves the right to reject the submission on these grounds alone. Please ensure DVD submissions will properly play on a standard North American stand alone player, or they may not be considered.

The Morehead International Independent Film Festival is televised on Kentucky Educational Television (KET). If selected for screening, a properly formatted final copy of the film in NTSC either in English or with English subtitles may be requested and must be received by the deadline supplied to you by email. The entry DVDs will be kept for festival archives.

If your film is accepted, you will be notified by email.
The festival is non-competitive and open to films of any genre: Narratives, Documentaries, Animation, Experimental, etc. There is no limit to the number of entries.
Non-English language produced films must have English subtitles or be dubbed in English.

The act of submitting this form constitutes acceptance without reservation of all rules of the MIIFF.

Terms and Conditions
I am the owner of the film I have submitted to The Morehead International Independent Film Festival. I acknowledge that I have the sole and exclusive ownership of all rights and have the full authority to submit the film to MIIFF or I am duly authorized to submit this film.
This film is not subject to any litigation nor is threatened by any litigation.
I will indemnify, defend and hold harmless MIIFF, its judges and managers or members, individually and collectively, from and against all claims, complaints, causes of action, liabilities, judgments, losses, costs and expenses including reasonable attorney’s fees arising out of or in connection with any and all claims and/or third party claims based on the materials I am submitting to MIIFF.
To the best of my knowledge, all of the statements in this application are true.
