MISSION & OBJECTIVE
Our mission is to open minds and build bridges in the areas of psychology, film, social media, and contemporary social issues. We seek to influence the quality and content of films that impact our world, and the art and science of Psychology. We strive to inform, and support film projects that embrace compassion and motivation to increase our knowledge, skills, and positive impact upon humanity. We also seek to provide a creative forum where diverse filmmakers may gather to exchange ideas and dialogue between each other, psychologists and audiences.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The APA’s Ad Hoc Committee on Film and Other Media has provided film and other media programming at its annual convention for over 25 years. The natural growth and progress of the program has led to the creation of a festival that will provide a professional, creative environment for APA members, auxiliary constituents and diverse filmmakers alike to tackle the varied issues of and facing modern psychology.

The Committee strives to merge the psychological and creative process in an attempt to foster films that inform, and that explore the narratives of lives and the relationship between the art and science of the human condition. Focusing on compelling stories and topics that are aesthetically and mentally stimulating, we select films that provide fresh perspectives on traditional issues impacting individuals and institutions. We want passionate films that define personal and human potential, illuminate life stories and challenge traditional story-telling.
