The Conscious Media Film Festival is seeking inspiring and meaningful films that integrate spiritual, experiential, scientific, and contemplative ideas.

The Conscious Media Film Festival screenings will be held on the evenings of June 19th and 20th, 2013, at the historic art-deco Boulder Theater in beautiful downtown Boulder, Colorado. In concert with the distinguished Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability (LOHAS) Conference, the festival will screen two narrative features, two documentaries and four to six shorts.

A jury of conscious media filmmakers, producers, and thought leaders will decide the winners in each category. The awards are as follows:

$5,000 for best narrative feature with a potential distribution agreement
$5,000 for best documentary with a potential distribution agreement
$1,500 for best short with a potential distribution agreement

Our festival awards are underwritten by generous sponsorship from GaiamTV.com. In a selection process unique to the Conscious Media Film Festival and our relationship with GaiamTV.com, finalists for the Festival will be chosen through voting by members on GaiamTV.com.

During our voting period from May 15th through May 31st, top submissions will air on GaiamTV.com. Films screened on GaiamTV.com will be available ONLY to subscribers of GaiamTV.com and after the voting period ends all films will be removed.

Viewers will select the best films in each category based on rankings. Each subscriber can only rank a film once. Those films ranked highest by GaiamTV.com subscribers will be official selections for the Festival.

Please note that because of our relationship with GaiamTV.com, all filmmakers, producers and artists who submit their films to the Conscious Media Film Festival agree to have their films screened on GaiamTV.com during the voting period (but not beyond that period). If you do not want your film to air on GaiamTV.com during the voting period, please email the festival organizers. Note also that films that are not screened on GaiamTV.com are less likely to be selected for the Festival. Filmmakers will be informed BEFORE their films are screened on GaiamTV.com.

We would prefer a digital screener but if you send a DVD please follow the instructions below:

Preview DVD (NTSC preferred, PAL accepted). DVD's must be submitted without labels or stickers of any kind. Please test your DVD before submitting. DVD's will not be returned unless accompanied by an addressed and prepaid return envelope or express service waybill.

DVD Labeling and Shipping:
In short, label everything with your WAB ID NUMBER...but specifically -
preview DVD's must be clearly labeled with the WAB ID NUMBER, film title, running time and contact information (including name, address and phone number). Please do not send submissions in fiber filled envelopes, as the dust damages playback devices. ONLY send your DVD in recyclable packaging.

Films selected for screening at the Festival will be notified no later than June 3, 2013.

After submissions from each category are screened by Festival organizers, the top films will be picked to be screened on GaiamTV.com. A jury of Conscious Media filmmakers and thought-leaders will decide the Festival winner in each category.

Filmmakers whose films are selected can deliver their film in a digital HD ProRes422 HQ Quicktime File or a DigiBeta. Failure to provide the film in acceptable format may result in the film being dropped from the festival.
