MISSION & OBJECTIVE
LEFT acknowledges film as the premier artistic medium of our era and seeks to expand both the ability of artists to create with film, and the public's awareness and appreciation of this diverse and uniquely modern art form.
The goals of LEFT are: Create new opportunities and challenges for filmmakers, Provide the film community with support and growth potential, Foster a presence for independent film makers within the greater arts community, Educate and increase the public's understanding and appreciation of the arts by providing screenings of independent film.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The Lost Episode Festival Toronto (LEFT) is an artist-run film festival held annually in Toronto, Canada. We are pleased to offer screenings of independent films produced both locally and internationally by many talented and creative artists.

The nonrefundable entry fee must be payable in US dollars to LEFT. Entries must be POSTMARKED by the deadline. Submission costs vary depending on category and discounts. When submitting to the festival you are agreeing that if chosen to screen during the dates of the festival, LEFT will not pay any additional screening fees presented by the submitter.
LEFT is a competitive showcase for domestic and international feature films and shorts. The LEFT Committee reserves the right to determine the eligibility of any project submitted. There is no limit to the number of entries.
All foreign language entries must have English subtitles. Projects must be submitted for consideration on DVD, BluRay or as an online screener. PAL format will not be accepted. Works in progress will be considered for LEFT, provided they be completed no later than July 1, 2015. Works in progress can be screened in the festival. Screening material, press and any application materials sent to LEFT will NOT be returned. If you did not receive a confirmation of submission , please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
All film submissions must be shipped prepaid and packed in proper containers to arrive at the LEFT office postmarked no later than their respective deadlines:

LEFT is a competitive event and unless notified otherwise, all films officially selected are included and eligible for competition. For a list of competitive categories please see our Awards page. All films are nominated and voted upon by an impartial jury of filmmakers, industry professionals, Festival programmers and aficionados.
If selected, the LEFT will require an electronic press kit to include production stills, bio and filmography of the director, production notes and full cast and crew credits.
Although every possible care will be taken with tapes and films while in our possession, we cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage. Do not send original prints or tapes. Please keep LEFT notified of any address/phone number changes.
The cost of shipping all entries and films to the festival must be paid by the entrant. LEFT will not pay the cost of shipping the print back to the filmmaker. LEFT will not be responsible for expedited or overnight shipping charges to other organizations. Also, LEFT cannot guarantee shipment of prints to other festivals during the days of the festival. All international entries must be sent 'free domicile' to the LEFT office with all transportation charges, duties, and taxes prepaid by the shipper.
Submission of an entry gives LEFT permission to have accepted work shown in all promotional mediums relevant to the festival.
Films selected for LEFT will be notified approximately August 1, 2015.
