MISSION & OBJECTIVE
The mission of the Knoxville Film Festival is to recognize and celebrate the art of independent cinema. It exists to provide a stimulating gathering in which the lovers and creators of independent cinema come together to see and discuss interesting works from local, regional, national and international filmmakers.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Although 2014 is only the second year for the Knoxville Film Festival (KFF), its history dates back nearly a decade. Originally the Secret City Film Festival, Executive Director Keith McDaniel joined forces in 2013 with Dogwood Arts to create the largest and most complete film festival in the region. Held at Knoxville's Arthouse theater, the Regal Downtown West Cinema 8, KFF has become the region's destination for independent cinema. In 2013, KFF had more than 2,000 in attendance, screened more than 80 independent films, held 5 different panel discussions and hosted the 7-Day Shootout and Battle Cry of Freedom filmmaking competitions.

From the Opening Night Film and party to the closing awards ceremony, the 2014 Knoxville Film Festival promises to be an exciting weekend filled with great films, networking opportunities and fun-filled social activities.

With strong support from Regal Entertainment Group (the world's largest theater chain whose headquarters happen to be in Knoxville), along with strong local corporate sponsorship, the 2014 Knoxville Film Festival will be held September 11-14, 2014, at the Regal Downtown West Cinema 8.
